Ladies Snowdon hike via Ranger Path

26th September. 7.30 am - 4 pm (approx)

Join me for this beautiful and scenic hike to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

This promises to be a day to remember as you join up with other like-minded ladies and we work as a fabulous team. It's not only the chance to hike up to the highest mountain in Wales; you'll be fully supported, guided and in very safe hands. We will take a steady pace, there will be stops along the way for snacks/drinks/photo opportunities and we will have an extended stop at the summit for lunch.

The Ranger Path is one of the oldest routes up Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) and one of the most tranquil. You will be rewarded with pretty streams, far-reaching scenery, lakes and valleys. There are some steeper sections towards the summit (after all, this is a mountain!) but it is a straight-forward path and is well-maintained. Once we reach the summit, panoramic views await us as you celebrate your massive acheivement!

The summit visitor centre will be open to indulge in some well-earned refreshments.

FAQs:-

How fit do I need to be?

Average-good fitness with some recent hill-walking/hiking experience. The hike to the summit generally takes around 4-5 hours at a steady pace.

What should I bring with me?

You will need a pair of walking boots that are comfortable and worn-in.

A rucksack

Waterpoof clothing (the mountains have their own, unpredictable climate!)

Water, food and snacks

Warm layers

Gloves and hat

Any medications

A small, personal first aid kit

How large is the group?

There will be no more than 10 people to allow for a quality experience, the chance to have conversation and get to know each other.

What happens if the weather is bad?

During the days leading up to the hike, I will be watching the mountain forecast carefully. The event will still take place in wet weather. However, if high winds or storms are expected then the event will be re-scheduled at no cost to yourself.

I am travelling from a distance, can I stop over the night before?

I can advise on possible places to stay over in the area. Possibilities include Bangor, Caernarfon, Llanberis, Rhyd Ddu, Betws-Y-Coed and Capel Curig. There is also a YHA at the foot of the Ranger Path.

Where will we meet?

There is paid parking at the foot of the Ranger Path and this will be the meeting place. More details will be forwarded to you (cost of parking and exact postcode) nearer to the time.

Who will lead the hike?

I (Debbie) will be leading this hike and there will possibly be another female mountain leader (depending on group size)

If you have any other questions that I haven't covered here, please drop me an email and I will be happy to answer them.
